What is Car2School ?


Car2School is an innovative way to bring kids to school through a collaborative app. This clever twist, in addition to being affordable for familes is also a green solution. Indeed, car-sharing means less car on the road and means less CO2 into the atmosphere !

Why is Car2school so useful for families ?

Car2School is able to improve families' daily lives by helping them to be more organized ! Moreover, it is user friendly and not bulky.

How could it be used as an educational tool?

Car2School encourages cooperation between families, community life and self-help ! It is also a way to ease congestion.

The project

Context

We know that in a few areas such as city suburbs or rural areas, the daily Work/School commuting from home can be really complex because of a lack of public transports and traffic. It can be hard for some families to organize themselves and be sure that everyone can commute daily, safely and being sure to remain punctual. Some adults are facing really strict punctuality rules and they need to find out an efficient way to bring their kids to/from school or to extra-school activities.

Target

This service will be displayed on our app that we are currently developing. It will be directly relating a user’s profile to the school of its children in order to ensure the authenticity and the trustability of every drivers. Children’s parents will receive safety codes from the school and they can then sign up with their personal informations and what kind of journeys they are seeking for, and for how many children.

Service offered

This service is aiming at offering home to school share rides but can obviously be extended to extra-school activities and particularly sports practices. Payment plan will be up to users’ decision. Our main goal is to ensure the absolute safety of the process, so that you can fully rely on someone you never met to bring your child safely.

Benchmark of our main competitors

  • Blablacar the car-sharing giant. Its strength is its brand image but also the quality and reliability of its service. It is the absolute reference in terms of car sharing and they are aiming at a wider target than ours : connecting the entire population looking for a share ride. Our own target is then include among Blablacar’s one. We will have to really insist on our differentiation and our added-value.
  • Wever, the daily rides app that applies to a specific city and its surroundings. The ideal app if you missed your bus or you need to do groceries in a big mall. The drivers are inputting their journeys in the app and if an user is interested by the same one, he can join it simply. Their strength is that most of the rides are offered for free and in exchange for its services the driver will receive some points and sales coupons.
  • Karos « how to transform an individual vehicle in a collective transportation ». An app which focuses on short rides and multi-modal journeys. The main target being the home to work daily rides. The app is using Artificial Intelligence and Big data : the rides are analyzed and offers automatically to join others users who are doing similar rides.
  • Carecole is a car sharing solution for school rides in your area. This project is the closest from the one we would like to develop but their app is not really ergonomic and does not answer to all the potential needs. If we can obviously inspire ourselves from their project, ours will have to be pushed way further.

    We chose a dark blue all over our app design to inspire confidence and to give a strong professional aspect to our app even though this one should be super easy and childish to use, in case some young children would need to book rides with their own mobile phones.

    • Ideas to go further

    In addition to our partnerships with schools, we could develop partnerships with music schools, theater schools and sport clubs. In brief, everything in touch with children leisure and requiring transport is interesting ! These activities usually occur on Wednesday or during peak hours after school. So the promotion of car-sharing during these days and hours is appropriate. We also could allow accounts creation for kinds over 12 years who already have a phone.
